What is the truth? How do we trust ourselves... and the world around us? A timeless and endless question that has been asked since the dawn of time, or our creation, and possibly a subtle inquiry that we tap into every day: Who to trust? Is this the truth? Is this true? Do you trust me? Can you trust this?

I say the dawn of time, because that’s how we relate to what we are, by the measurement of what and how we accomplish things, by the unfolding of time. Are we to trust how much we do? Or to align with our absolute truth and trust the actuality of who we are?

Let's examine the etymology of the words here:

Truth: from the old English – Triew: Faithfulness – Fidelity – Loyalty. So, truth is faithfulness in relativity. What is the truth related to... ? Your link to reality is your relationship to it (to relate is to be real in that regard).

Real: from the Latin root - Realis: To relate. So, relationships are where we find the truth about ourselves, to know ourselves. The discomfort that we face in deeper relationships is the shadow (unreal) part that we project.

Trust: Firm and faithful belief in the truth – reliability and strength. When you’re trustful, you relate to truth. Origin – Old Norse and English – Traust (Strong) - Therefore, firm and strong to be acknowledging truth. Which is an expression of confidence and esteem.

I believe one of the fundamentals aspects of the Self, is to trust. But, if we remove the words trust and examine its texture, what do you feel when you trust? Or having been exposed to the truth? Trust is the state of being safe and guarded in the process of doing and the truth is the representation of that trust – the reality of your being.

When you share something with a person you trust, you feel safe to express. The same goes for all different activities. Now, how can this state be reflected inwards? How can your internal government be empowered?

Always remember that Trust’s demon is fear and doubt. What do you fear or resist, that is blocking your ability to see the truth and trust your actions and decisions? When the blocks are recognized, there’s trust to release.

What’s the ultimate truth? Is to trust in the present. I believe that’s the universal truth. The reality of the subtle and ever-present intelligence that is always now and here.

So, as we agree that due to our subjective understandings of life, there’s no wrong or right in the regard of awareness, so is the truth. You will unveil the truths that you know, to debunk the falsities that condition your thinking, until you reach your ultimate truth. To change perspective is to look at the belief/situation, from a different angle of the truth. Hence, trusting is a process of unveiling how safe you can be with your thinking and your associations, and the truth is what you base your trust on. Truth is a belief and trust is the action of that heartfelt faith.

But, to trust, is to let go also: To have faith that you are being taken care of, the same way that nature takes care of its inhabitants, you must root in the intelligence within you. This is the action of becoming present, as the present is the truth, you transform subjectivity into objectivity.

Opinions are replaced for facts and facts are then discerned from within: Is this true to me or not? Trust how you feel, as this is the state of what is, the present form of what’s happening, your thoughts turn your attention to the past, so how can you trust your thoughts from feelings? Everything roots back to how present you are in observing what’s happening in the state of now.

To trust and act on that in the external, it has to be aligned with internally. For, how can you have faith in something, without trusting your abilities to discern and decide inwardly? You become more instinctual, which makes you more insightful. The heart has to open to allow the new aspect of you to be empowered and cultivated. But, as you open up to trust, you also have to understand your own limits of doubts and disbeliefs.

As, when you think you trust, but you’re actually doing the opposite, where you project, then you are under the illusion that you’re trusting, because you are acting out of fear that is being “trusted” in the person outside. So, understanding your internal states, by feeling, will show you where you have trust and where you are doubting.

Let’s take relationships as an example: You have deep distaste for a specific person, that you try to avoid interacting with them, when you can.

You’re willing to disturb your own environment to avoid this person, to give them emotional power over you, that in the present and same moment, you’re feeling the past thoughts and sensations you have about them, which makes you uncomfortable. You have conditioned your reality to be around that being.

Now, what’s the truth here? Why are you uncomfortable around this person?

You might say this and that, stories to justify how you feel about them, but how do you feel about yourself? The truth is how you feel about you and not what you think about them. The truth is to trust how you feel, to navigate how you experience relating to this aspect of your life. Remember, the reality of any situation, is how you ally with it.

The truth is that you’re projecting your emotional state, to avoid feeling it, to that person: now, look at the person, who’s really in that moment, your mirror. We are all mirroring each other when we are not aware – so, the truth here is to trust the present – what is and what’s the reality: Observing.

Drawing the curtains on this part with some statements of trusting illuminations: Trusting myself:

  • Thank you for all your insights and teachings. But, what I receive from the external world, is mine to discern. It’s my decision on how to resonate and integrate. What works for me, should be aligned and felt as my truth. This is what the truth feels like. Be it.

  • The truth for all humanity is love. Your truth is how to cultivate it.

  • It’s not about finding yourself, but letting go of that thinking that veils yourself. Do you go on to find your body, it’s there, you’re in it. The same way that you’re in spirit.

  • Trust and truth are like water – expressed differently, but intertwined.

  • What a beautiful way to see the world, through your inner lens of trust, to lead your life. To stand up and draw your boundaries; when needed and required.

  • Of course, there’s immense pain in handling others’ distrust, but your own trust is the grandeur of all. You see the deviation of what’s not trustingly truthful.

  • You can never evade the drama of others, but you can trust that you can act from an equanimous place within. To see the world as it is, is to accept yourself as who you are and who you are not.

  • The art of suffering.... is not to listen to yourself.

  • I am always on the path to: A new state in an unchanged and restricted world.

From my heart to yours,

Peace in and peace out.
